The Prairie Music Festival is an early fall festival featuring an array of musical and artistic activities. The Cannery district of downtown Sun Prairie becomes a multi-stage, free-walking event for the entire family.
Cannery Grill
The Cannery Grill stage features local bands with a variety of styles -- folk, jazz, pop, rock, country, and blues. This year's festival lineup included Whitney Mann, Count This Penny, Whiskey Farm featuring Jason Horowitz, and Mighty Short Bus featuring Frank Busch (105.5 Triple M "Project M" winner)

The Beans 'n' Cream stage showcased some of the area's finest singer/songwriters. These talented individuals performed acoustic originals outside of the shop as onlookers enjoyed lattes and desserts. This year's event featured Beth Kille, Erin O'Brien, Ida Jo and the Show, Midnight Voices (a capella women's choir), and Corey Hart.
Prairie Music AcademyOur school served as the primary headquarters for the festival and as the family stage, boasting a variety of musical and artistic activities. This year will feature a balloon-twister, face-painting and glitter tattoo artists, juggling, a walking hand-drum group, dancers, musicians, and much much more! Jacob Mills, Story-telling on Stilts, Our very special guests this year include The Handphibians, a roaming and street-performing drumming group!
The event concept began as a fun and admission-free way to spread the love of music and arts throughout the community. Through local sponsorships, business support, and generous community donations, we raise money to fund our need-based scholarship program called Preludes. Over the past two festivals, we have earned $3,000 - enough money to support approximately 115 private music lessons.

NEW IN 2011 - L.I.N.K
Lonely Instruments Need Kids is a new 'instrument donation' program in which families can bring gently-used string instruments (guitars, violins, violas) to Prairie Music Academy. We will have the instruments tuned, repaired, and loaned to students who cannot afford an instrument of their own. Donations may qualify for a tax deduction. For more information, call Prairie Music Academy.
