PMA Honors Piano Program

For serious piano students who want to challenge their skills. Students are recommended into the program by their instructor and are chosen by audition.
Honors Piano Program Activities:
  • Monthly performance and content based classes led by the Prairie Music & Arts piano faculty.
  • Classes explore music history, theory, and performance technique.
  • Year-round performances throughout the community. Special spring recital is held annually to celebrate the efforts of this unique group of musicians.
  • Mentoring within the program allows elementary and advanced level students opportunities to learn from each other.
  • Community involvement is emphasized through service projects and performances.
  • Guests lecturers are invited annually for a presentation and masterclass. Past guests include Catherine Kautsky, Anthony Padilla, and Michael Mizrahi Professors of Piano from Lawrence University in Appleton, Dr. Jessica Johnson from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Marvin Blickenstaff from the New School of Music in New Jersey.
