Friends at the Piano

Continuation Class

Continue the musical learning and fun that you started during the summer! Students will expand their piano skills even more and work toward their first perforance experience in December.

  • Tuesday 4:30-5:15pm
  • Three 10-week sessions
  • $144 tuition per session
  • Fall Session (Sept. 14) - tuition due Aug. 15
  • Winter Session (Jan. 4) - tuition due Dec. 15
  • Spring Session (Mar. 15) - tuition due Feb. 15
  • New materials are not needed for Session 1
  • Class is only open to student that have completed the Friends at the Piano Summer Session 2010.

Friends at the Piano - Year 1/Ages 5-6

Get ready to learn the piano with your friends Carlos, Dallas, the twins, Katie, and Mrs. Razzle-Dazzle. A colorful cast of characters await you in this fun-filled group class. Explore musical notation and rhythm, and learn a variety of fun songs to show your friends and family. Group learning is a great way to start your music education.

  • Materials are required and must be purchased by each student prior to the first class. Directions for ordering materials will be given out upon registration
  • Class is open to all new students
Students are encouraged to enroll for the full calendar year. A 10% discount is offered to families that enroll for all three sessions. Please call our Office Manager or Music Directors to learn more about the benefits of year-long study.

Miley's Melodies - Fall Session (Grades 2-5)

Sing the songs from Hannah Monatana: The Movie while rocking out with some funky dance moves. Learn about stage presence and poise while singing songs like Hoedown Throwdown, and The Climb - songs made famous by Miley Cyrus.

Dancing Queen - Winter/Spring (Grades 2-5)

Be a Dancin' Queen in this Mamma Mia movie musical tribute to ABBA. Sing and dance to hits like I Have a Dream, Take a Chance on Me, Thank You for the Music, and...of course...Dancin' Queen. Students must provide a white T-shirt to tie-dye for the performance.

Disco Fever - Fall (Grades 6-8)

The 70s are back with our Disco Fever Show Choir, featuring songs such as YMCA, I Will Survive, Funky Town, and Boogie Fever. Learn authentic disco moves while singing your heart out to these rockin' tunes. Plus, make your own tie-dyed t-shirt to wear to the final performance. No prior experience required.

The Lion King on Broadway - Winter/Spring (Grades 6-8)

Sing, dance, and act to music from the Broadway version of The Lion King including Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Circle of Life, Endless Night, and I Just Can't Wait to be King. We will take time to make some costumes from the show to wear in performance.

For the serious piano or voice student that wants to challenge their skills. Participants must have completed a minimum of two years instruction with the same teacher, must be enrolled for year-round music study, and show proficiency in technical, theory, and performance skills.

Honor students who attend all eight group classes and complete technical and performance skill benchmarks will receive a certificate at the end of the year and be invited to perform in a year-end honors recital. Students must be recommended into the honors program with prior approval of their instructor. *Please talk to your instructor to determine if this series of classes is appropriate for you.

Budding Artist Level (Piano, Elementary)

Perfect your technical, analytical, and performance skills in this vibrant piano class. Learn music theory and history through the piece you are practicing and performing. PMA Faculty will collaborate and coach your student's solo pieces and group ensembles.

Performance Artist Level (Piano & Voice, MS/HS)

Learn the art of performing in preparation for music festivals, Solo and Ensemble, and other yearly performances. Students will be paired with a partner to work on ensemble music throughout the year. Classes will include work in music history, theory, and performance coaching. Vocalists should have prior experience singing in a foreign language.

Classes are held monthly on Friday or Saturday. Class dates and times are listed in the calendar section.
