Prairie Music Academy is a 501(c)3 non-profit community music school offering quality education and opportunities to people of all ages and backgrounds. It is our goal to foster musical exploration that leads to self-confidence and creativity, as well as to offer a community that both inspires and enriches.

We offer more than just piano lessons, guitar lesson, voice lessons, string programs, and early childhood music classes. We've designed a holistic learning environment which develops the mind, body, and soul, starting at birth and progressing all the way to adulthood. We offer early childhood classes filled with singing and dance for child and parent/caregiver. Our private lessons and group classes give the students the benefit of individualized attention, peer socialization, and a lively environment for sharing. The variety of programs we offer make our school a one-stop shop for the whole family.

Our non-profit community music school, founded in 1999, became tax-exampt in 2006 and serves Sun Prairie, Madison, and Eastern Dane County. Our students come from all walks of life. They are award-winners and are top performers in school ensembles and theatre productions. Our faculty are college-trained and award-winning professional musicians. They perform regularly with classical, jazz, and popular music ensembles throughout the state.

We reach out and enhance the whole community by developing new ways to spread the benefits of music study. Through weekly early childhood music and motion classes, we bring music around town to area preschools, daycares, and community centers. We are reaching out to very young children -- many of whom might not otherwise be able to afford music instruction.

Our workshops and camps, both during the year and the summer months, feature the state's most highly regarded performing musicians and educators. We provide a wide variety of performance opportunities for our students as well as faculty concerts throughout the year.
